Microscope Automation Components

We offer microscope automation components and accessories for controlling illumination, focusing, sample movement, and objective switching. They are compatible with most brands of microscope currently on the market, as well as several legacy models.

Please click the images below for a full list of microscope components and accessories compatible with each brand.

Benefits of automating your microscope

Automated microscopes are well-suited for time-consuming, repetitive applications. Benefits of automation include:

  • Increased speed and efficiency in imaging
  • Improved data quality
  • Reduced operator fatigue

Many systems can be set up and left to run with minimal operator interaction, which leaves researchers with more time to spend on analyzing and interpreting data. Producing more images, storing them digitally and analyzing them in greater numbers can also enhance data integrity.

Investing in a new, automated imaging system is a major capital cost but it’s possible to upgrade and adapt existing microscopes with a range of accessories to either partially or fully automate them. This is not only cost-effective but reduces the training time needed to familiarize staff with a completely new system. A simple manual microscope currently on site could provide the base for a highly capable automated system.

Microscope Automation Guides

Even existing automated microscopes can be upgraded with new components to ensure you maximize the lifetime value of the equipment or upgrade their capability to address new applications.

If your microscope brand isn’t listed, please contact us to discuss your specific model.

Discover Prior’s OpenStand

Occasionally it’s not possible to effectively automate or upgrade an existing microscope – for example, due to its age or the intended application.

In this case, our OpenStand is a fully customizable microscope that can be tailored for specific applications and is a cost-effective alternative to buying and adapting a new microscope.
